  • About accreditation

    I want to use someone else’s training course, is that allowed?

    You may use the training materials of a third party. In that case, you’re using this material under license. Together with the proof of accreditation of the material and the license agreement you apply for accreditation of licensed material. After approval you can publish this training on your own website and you will be published as a Training Provider on the BNTQB & ISTQB® website. You will receive a certificate of accreditation from the BNTQB for this training material.The training must be delivered by an accredited or registered tutor. This person can come from within your own organization or be made available by a third party. In the latter case, please note that the tutor must be known to the BNTQB as the teacher for the training course in question.

    We’d like to conduct training, so what do we need to do?

    For each ISTQB® syllabus, in addition to the syllabus and sample exam questions, you’ll find the accreditation requirements. In addition to covering the syllabus in full, taking into account the minimum teaching time for each section, worked-out exercises as examples or as guided practice for the participants also need to be provided.

    This material is submitted to accreditation@bntqb.org.A review panel goes through the material and then validates it. On approval, an accreditation certificate is issued and your organization is published as a training provider on the BNTQB and ISTQB® website.

    At least one accredited or registered tutor must be known to the BNTQB for each training course.

  • About certifications

    How can I have my certificates included in the Successful Candidate Register?

    Since 2017, candidates who have obtained an ISTQB certificate have the option to add their certificate to the ISTQB 'Successful Candidate Register' (SCR). This option is offered to you by the exam provider that issued your certificate, along with your certificate.If you want to register certificates -whether or not from before 2017- or if you want to change your data, please contact the exam provider that issued your certificate. This is stated on the certificate.

    How can I check the authenticity of a certificate?

    The BNTQB does not keep records of people who have obtained an ISTQB certificate.You can always contact the exam provider that issued the certificate. This is stated on the certificate.Since 2017, candidates who have obtained an ISTQB certificate have the option to add their certificate to the ISTQB 'Successful Candidate Register' (SCR). Not everyone takes advantage of this option. If so, this is the easiest way to check the authenticity of a certificate.

    When will the next examination take place?

    Can I take an exam from home?

    Due to the COVID-19 it is now temporarily possible to take an ISTQB exam on your own system (home or work) via remote proctoring.All details about this can be found on the websites of our exam providers. The list of recognised exam providers can be found here.

    Are there certain conditions to participate in an exam?

    For each ISTQB certificate it is a minimum requirement that you are in possession of an ISTQB Foundation Level certificate. When you go for an Advanced or Expert Deliver certification, there are additional requirements. These are included in the syllabus for this training. The different syllabi can be found on the ISTQB website.

    I have lost my certificate. How can I get a new one?

    The BNTQB does not keep records of people who have obtained an ISTQB certificate.You can always obtain a duplicate of your certificate from the exam provider that issued your certificate. Please note that there may be a charge for this.The list of recognised exam providers can be found here.Tip: register yourself in the ISTQB 'Successful Candidate Register' (SCR). This option is offered through your exam provider. You can also link your digital certificate to, for example, your LinkedIn profile.

  • About partner program

    How is the number of certificates counted for an application to join the ISTQB Partner Program?

    The number of (proven) certificates at the time of application will be taken into account. These numbers are multiplied by a weighting factor to determine the total number of certificate points: foundation certificates are multiplied by 1, Advanced certificates by 3 and Expert certificates by 5.The following minimums apply for each partner level:
    • Silver: 5 points and 1 Foundation certificate
    • Gold: 14 points and 1 Advanced & 1 Foundation certificate
    • Platinum: 30 points and 3 Advanced & 2 Foundation certificates

    How can my company become an ISTQB partner?

    Contact us via partners@bntqb.org or download the registration form. Fill in the form and send it to partners@bntqb.org. There, someone will check the information and contact you as soon as possible to arrange the further steps.

    How long is the partnership valid?

    The ISTQB Partner Program is renewable annually.

    What are the benefits of the partner program for the partner?

    There are a number of benefits to the partner program. For example:
    • Listing on ISTQB® & BNTQB website
    • Use of the partnership logo & certificate
    • Possible participation in beta review of ISTQB® syllabi
    • Participation in BNTQ partner events
    • Training providers get exemption from admin & web fees for their training accreditation and 5% discount on the accreditation of training materials
