The TMMi Foundation developed the Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi); a model that provides a framework for improving the quality of test processes. TMMi has become the de facto standard for test process improvement. TMMi is independent of the software development methodology that is applied.

TMMi Model
TMMi is the world’s leading model for test process improvement. With TMMi, organizations can improve their test process and even become certified if they meet the requirements. The TMMi Foundation has set up a global assessment and certification program for test organizations with accredited TMMi assessors and lead assessors, and an international certification program for test professionals with recognized TMMi training providers.

TMMi Carreer Path
A complete TMMi career path including certification has been defined with two streams:
Consultancy for those who provide advice and support for TMMi based test process improvement and lead test improvement projects.
Assessments for those who perform informal and formal TMMi assessments.
The figure below provides an overview of the career path.
TMMi assessments are performed to:
determine to what extent the organization’s test processes comply with TMMi best practices and provide suggestions for improvement
demonstrate to the market (customers and suppliers) that the organization’s test processes comply with the best practices defined by TMMi.
By means of formal TMMi assessments, an organization can be officially TMMI certified for a certain level if it meets the defined criteria.

TMMi Professional
TMMi Professional is a certification program for anyone involved in using the TMMi model. This includes people in roles such as test process improvers, test consultants, TMMi (lead) assessors, business representatives, test managers and members of a test process group. It is the first step in the TMMi career path.
How to become a certified TMMi Professional?
Take a training course with one of the TMMi Foundation’s recognized training providers.
Prepare for the certification exam using the documents available on the TMMi website.
Get the TMMi Professional certificate by achieving a score of 65% on the one-hour, 40-question multiple-choice exam offered by our recognized exam providers.

TMMi Local Chapter
BNTQB is the official TMMi local chapter for Belgium and the Netherlands. In this role:
we do TMMi marketing
we ensure that training on the TMMi model is locally available
we ensure that training on TMMi assessments and TMMi assessment services is locally available
we represent Belgium and the Netherlands, and work closely with the TMMi Foundation central organization.
